Quote and Thoughts

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.”
– B.K.S. Iyengar

This quote is so simple and so beautiful. And so true. Yoga has the power to heal physical injury. CAN YOU INSERT YOUR STORY OF YOUR BACK INJURY HERE???

To complete the healing power of yoga, there is the spiritual aspect, the part that teaches us to “endure what cannot be cured.” If we look at this from an emotional, spiritual and intellectual stance, it is clear. One of the fundamentals of yoga is inner peace.

Inner peace is such a foundational part of a good life. Often we cannot control what happens in our world. There are so many elements – events and people and animals and earthly occurrences. It would be impossible to make them all behave exactly the way we want. So it makes perfect sense that in order to attain inner peace, we must gaze inward.

Acceptance, patience, kindness and understanding. These are all spaces occupied by yoga, and people who practice it. Flexibility through yoga is not only achieved physically, but also spiritually. Armed with this information, who wouldn’t practice yoga? It’s an incredible gift, and one that helps us to realize that inside ourselves, we all have the ability to transcend.
